
Shauna was born in Edmonton and grew up in Adrossen where her parents run a
traffic installation company called CAN-TRAFFIC. Shauna began riding with Judy Gorsline at the age of 8 and continued with her from her pony years through Grand Prix. She won the Spruce Meadows Rising Star award in 1992 and has shown up to 1.5m in the International ring. In 2000 Shauna won the Puissance at the Spruce Meadows Indoor at 6’. Following high school Shauna began working in the horse industry for such names as; Trish Mrakawa, Jonathon Asselin, Lisa Carlsen and Albert Kley, she even spent 3 months in the middle east working for the Amir of Bahrain training young Sheiks to ride. In 2002 Shauna spent three months in Germany working for Meyer Zu Bexten - chef d’equipe of the German team.
In January 2003 Shauna started her own business called Carousel Ridge
focusing on the training of horses for the jumper ring and sale and
importation of talented horses from Europe. Shauna also breeds her four
Canadian Warmblood broodmares focusing on the jumper bloodlines.
Shauna hopes to focus on importing and selling horses in the future, she
will continue to ride client horses in stallion approvals and in the jumper
ring as well as bringing along young talented prospects. She will be competing Case and other young prospects in 2007.
